About Me

I began working on mosaics about two years ago as part of a plan to create a Secret Garden at the Growing Matters Garden Centre.  Although this is still ongoing I have since moved on to other areas.

I began with the Seahorse Mosaic which can be found in my Work Done page.  This was the first mosaic I created and it took me just a few days to complete.  This was constructed using slate as a base onto which were fixed broken ceramic tile.

My next big project was the Golden Condor which can be found as a permanent fixture in the Secret Garden.  The idea of this particular piece was to not only provide visual impact but something that would reflect the sunlight during the summer months.  I used gold and silver mirror tiles for much of the bird whilst blue tiles (non mirror) were used for the background.  These latter tiles were laid out in a wavy patter to simulate the sea.
