This was my first commission and it took my about two days to complete.  A customer wanted a house number on slate to a small size and I was able to produce this design in about two days. 

I used a narrow piece of slate which was then cut down to size.  I used two colors for the tiles but two shades for each colour, this was because I was limited for by what I had at the time.  The overall effect was quite satisfying in the end.  A dark coloured grout was used for this piece to make the lighter colours stand out more.
